“This is your body
your greatest gift,
pregnant with wisdom you do not hear,
grief you thought was forgotten,
and joy you have never known.”Marion Woodman
A Dakini (sanksrit:"sky dancer") is a female being from Tibetan Buddhism, who dances in a state of bliss and freedom. Her role is to transmute suffering into joy, to bring us pleasure, and to inspire or tempt us into a new way of being.
Healing is not just about fixing problems or removing pain. It is the process of restoring balance and feeling better in the world. The sensation of a relaxed body, the feeling of renewal following a good night's sleep, or the clarity of a soothed mind are not luxuries but available for everyone.
Dakini Massage provides effective treatment for aches and pains, tight muscles and tense minds. The aim is go beyond just fixing problems, and to promote feelings of wellbeing and a sense of love for the body. Instead of pushing our bodies till they start complaining, making time for rest, touch, and nurturing activites can change how we experience ourselves and the world.
Dakini Massage is a fusion of eastern and western massage techniques, "sports" or remedial massage, hot stone massage and energy work. The underlying philosophy is osteopathic, recognising that the structure and function of the body are related, and that the body "has it's own medicine chest". The intent of treatment is to facilitate and assist your intrinsic healing capacity, to support your journey to well being.
