“As a therapist, I believe strongly that my role is to work alongside a person’s own healing process, and to assist where I can but not to force. I tailor and adapt my treatments to the individual, and don’t believe that pain is necessary for massage to be effective. My application of hot stones and eastern technique allow me to work deeply without the pain some people have come to associate with therapeutic massage.
“I believe that receiving healthy and nurturing touch is vital for overall wellbeing, and I am glad to provide this to others through my massage.
“I work to reestablish the connection between mind and body. I have also been keen to find ways to stop, unwind, and take a breather in today’s fast paced technological world. Discovering and experiencing massage allows me to explore all of this.
“I am particularly interested in promoting the benefits of massage and body work for helping with mood disorders, such as depression or anxiety.
“Finally, I believe in taking an integrative approach to health, and have an interest in nutrition, herbal medicine, pilates, t’ai chi, and learning about complementary therapy in general. When not doing this I love to get out and about, enjoying nature and the countryside.”
My main diploma is in massage & bodywork, and is certified by The Association of Physical and Natural Therapists. I undertook further training in advanced medical massage with Jing in Brighton. I am currently training as an Osteopath with the British School of Osteopathy in London.
I am registered practitioner with the British Complementary Medicine Association and the General Council for Massage Therapy. I am also fully insured.
"Being treated by Catherine is being treated by a whole person, not just a set of hands. Catherine harmonises precise, focused movements with empathic intelligence in a way that makes me leave our sessions with the feeling of having had my soul as well as my body massaged. However relaxing a session may be, it always feels demanding too, because the strong sensation requires one’s full attention.
On top of an extraordinary personality, I would rank Catherine particularly high for fusing all sorts of knowledge relating to her field and doing so with heartfelt integrity and critical seriousness. Her openness makes me more tolerant and accepting towards my own body and in that way, the mere feeling in the room makes me feel more balanced.
Catherine is uncompromising professional and I can in every way warmly recommend her. "
